Weekend of Tennis

So this weekend started the Alta tennis tournament. We came in second in our division so we made the playoffs. Saturday we played over at Lost Mountain. The way the tournament works is you have 5 lines of people that way. The first team that wins 3 of the 5 lines goes on to the next round. Our line 1s won, the 2s and 3s lost so it all came down to the 4s and 5s. Josh was playing line 4 with Jackie, our team captain. (I had a baby shower so I was late and not in the lineup) They won in straight sets. Then our line 5 went to 3 sets and pulled it out! Saturday night I stopped by the Gernatts for the family birthday party before heading back to the neighborhood for a night out with the tennis ladies. We went to a tapas place in Roswell called Little Alley. They had live music and it was really fun. Sunday we went to church, then came back to pack the blankets and chairs for tennis at Terrell Mill park. The team we were playing had like a 91% win percentage in the regular season. 8 out of their 10 players were not from here. Bosnia/Russia/China it was like a tennis factory. I was a little worried after our line 1 team got beat 6-0, 6-1. Our 2s won by default b/c the girl hurt her knee. The 3s lost in 3 sets. So once again our 4s and 5s had to pull through. Our line 4 won the first set 7-5, lost the 2nd set 6-4 and in the 3rd set went to tie breaker and WON!! Our line 5s lost the first set, won the 2nd set and they also pulled it through to a tie breaker. We were up 3-0, then they came back to 3-3, at one point they were up match point 6-4, then 6-5 and we came back to WIN 8-6!!!! It was AWESOME!!!!!! Josh got to see what I will be like as a sports parent. I was pacing like a mad woman! Anywho, it was a very fun weekend. After the win, we celebrated at El Jinete our favorite mexican restaurant. We play this Saturday for the 3rd round of the tournament (I'll be in Destin, so I hope we pull it out). If we win, city finals are the next weekend.
