So Friday we left around lunch headed to Vogel State Park. We decided it would be fun to hike in for a few miles, spend the night and hike back in the morning. It was fun except for the whole sleeping part. I think we got maybe 1 hour of sleep. It was the LONGEST night ever. My feet were freezing and neither of us could get comfortable sleeping in just the sleeping bags. I guess I'm just a car camper.....with the big comfy mats. I did really enjoy the hiking part.

Maddux had his own pack so he could carry his food. And I don't know if I should have gotten the medium but it didn't work quite like I pictured. Most of you that know Maddux knows how much he likes to "mark" his territory. So every time he lifted his leg to pee it went straight into the straps and bottom of the pack. Gross!

Not real sure what Josh is doing here, looks like he is about to fall. We didn't see a single person from the time we left on Friday until we were almost back at the state park on Saturday. It was wonderful! And the weather was perfect!! Yeah, for spring!!!

I am jealous! I miss being close to the mountains. I want to go camping with the boys but I think I may need to use a circus tent to fit everybody.
