Wedding Showers & Half Marathons

Okay, so I know this is out of order, but I thought I had put it in earlier but I apparently I hadn't. I'm always looking for neat shower ideas and this is a really cool one. Kimberly, my soon to be cousin is very creative and she made these cards for each anniversary up to 20 years, and then the big ones like 25, 50, 60, etc. Everyone writes little tidbits in them and then the bride and groom get to have them for each anniversary. She did this for a baby shower to, for birthday's which I thought was the coolest idea. Anywho, thanks Kimberly! They turned out great.

There was a huge line for the shuttle so we decided to walk to the start (about a mile) This nice guy gave us a ride so it was only about 1/4 mile walk.

Wednesday morning I left for Ma & Papa's house in Florida. I had a great trip down as there was hardly anyone on the roads. We ate at church that night and it was very tasty. Thursday we hung around the house, planned the menu for the showers and worked on the games. I got to meet baby Estella, she's SO cute! Aunt Sarah brought us taco salads for lunch which were fabulous. Ma & I went to the grocery store that afternoon to get all the food for the shower. We did most of the prep work on the food Friday morning. It didn't take as long as I thought it might. Friday night, the girls (Suzie, Lauren, Jenny) got there around 5:30. We all and Chesed went out to eat at Camilles then hung out and listened to live music at a couple of different places. It turned out to be a late night, so with only 3 hours of sleep I got up Saturday morning bright and early to get some last minute stuff from the store. We were very busy that morning getting everything ready for the shower. Thanks a bunch to Jenny, Stegall and Suzie for helping out before going shopping! We had tons of yummy food. Chesed got lots of very nice presents and I think she had fun opening all them.

A special shout out to Charis, Kimberly, Ma & Auntie, yall rock! I will throw parties with yall anytime.

Sunday was the half marathon in Seaside. We got up around 5:15 planning to wear shorts because it had been nice and warm the previous few days.....not so that morning. It was VERY cold and REALLY windy. I was so proud of Jenny & Suzie. It was their first half marathon and they did GREAT!!! It was fun even with the brutal head wind for the first 6.5 miles. We played 100 questions, and I learned some interesting things about them. Thanks girls for making the trip down. And thanks to Chesed for braving the cold to cheer us on. It is definitely a race we plan on doing next year!!!!
