I have a prayer request for one of my good friend's from college, Hilary. She has a twin sister, Heather (who I was also friends with) that is pregant with her 3rd child and just found out the baby has spina bifida. This is part of an email that Hilary sent It does not look like there will be any surgery prior to the baby’s birth. The doctor predicts that based on the size of the hole in the baby’s back that she will be paralyzed roughly from the waist down with paralysis in the bowel and bladder. As the optimist in the family, I am still hoping for a miracle but have definitely come to grips with reality. If you would, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. If you have prayer lists at church, please add their names: Kevin and Heather Stanfield. They will probably name the baby Clara if it is easier to remember for purposes of adding her to the prayer list. Thanks for all your prayers and concerns.
God does work miracles, so please be praying for little Clara, and Heather & Kevin as they work through all of this. I can get their address if you want to send them a note of encouragement let me know.

Thank you Summer for posting this. We appreciate the prayers. It has been a difficult week for the entire family. Through the strenth of the family and our faith we will welcome and embrace the sweetest blessing our family has ever known.

Also, I am not a doctor so if the basis for the paralysis sounds funny the way it is worded, I may not have it exactly right, I just know that the doctor expect below the waste paralysis and paralysis of the bowel and bladder.

I will definitely keep baby Clara & family in my prayers. That is heart breaking and I can't imagine how Heather & Kevin must feel right now.
