The Last Week and Merry Christmas!

Last Friday, December 21st we had the Gernatt December birthday party. We celebrated the birthdays of Ashley and Elizabeth. We had a great time visiting with all the aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

Saturday morning I ran some errands in the morning and then around noon we left for Gatlinburg, TN to spend Christmas with Josh's immediate family and his grandparents on his Mom's side. His parents had rented a huge cabin on the top of a mountain. It had 5 master bedrooms with jacuzzi tubs and another room with bunk beds. It also had a pool table, air hockey and a hot tub. We had a great time! The view was terrific. We also had a cooking competition where Madre (Josh's Mom) put us into teams and we each cooked a different night. We were judged on Theme, Presentation, Creativity and Taste. I was on a team with Padre (Josh's Dad) and Ashley. We did an Italian theme and I thought the food was very tasty, but we came in second to Madre, Grandma and Matthew. They had a great presentation or tablescape (as Sandra Lee from Semi-Homemade would say). Santa came and was very good to us all. AJ got so many presents they had to have a trailer to haul them home in. Thanks Madre and Padre for a wonderful time and good memories!

Christmas night we left to come to my parents house. We arrived around 10:30 pm just in time to help put Santa out. They had waited (thanks so much) because I love watching them open presents. It was so much fun seeing how excited they were. Santa was very good to us all here too. I got a new laptop so that is what I am blogging with today. Yeah!! Sara and I did some shopping today for some of the after Christmas sales. I got some cute Christmas decorations for next year. Josh and Luke left tonight after dinner for home. Maddux and I are staying until tomorrow or maybe Saturday morning. Oh, and funny story my brother Samuel's dog has been staying at my parents as well as Maddux and she has been in heat. She has had to wear a doggy diaper all week. It has been pretty funny. Well hope you all had a wonderful and very merry Christmas. I'll post pictures soon!
