Saturday, after watching Paxton eat his cake I get a phone call from Jenny. Her and Brandon are running late (we knew this already) and she had Paxton's bday shirt. As soon as I answer I know something is wrong, she tells me that she and Brandon have been in a wreck. She was kind of freaking out and I know the feeling b/c it was how I was after I got in my wreck. I calm her down enough to find out that her and Brandon are okay, and they are pretty close to where the party is. She doesn't think the car is driveable so I head over to check on them. The car looked a lot worse than I expected, but luckily they weren't hurt. It was a long afternoon of talking to the insurance morons, the cops, emts and waiting on the tow truck. Also, NOTE: After a wreck don't start cleaning out the car until after the cops have cleared the vehicles. I had no idea of this rule, b/c when I had my wreck I left tons of stuff in it, not realizing it would be totaled and I'd have to drive to some random impound lot in the middle of nowhere to get the rest of my stuff....so I immediately start cleaning out Jenny's car. The cop comes over and asks what I'm doing....I tell him and he says for all I know you could be clearing out drugs or alcohol. Luckily he was nice about it, but note to self don't do it again. Suzie, Jenny and I waited for the tow truck while Josh and Brandon went to let the dogs out before we all headed to Norcross for Courtney & Patrick's engagement party. Yep, rather long day!
