So I just had to share this since it is the craziest surprise I have had in a LONG time, probably ever. I am sure a lot of you know that I have this group of girlfriends from college, 10 of us, that are still really close. We all live in the Atlanta area and get together as often as we can....at least once a month. Well Lauryn has been dating this guy Ben for quite a while very seriously, and I knew she had mentioned eloping or having a destination wedding but she didn't talk about it a lot because she didn't want to jinx anything (she had a a few bad experiences before). So yesterday starts off like any other day and then a fed-ex package gets delivered yesterday morning. Lauryn set it up so that each of us girls that were not with her (everyone except Courtney) would receive packages explaining everything. It had a marriage announcement for her & Ben, and a long letter explaining that they are in Jamacia right now eloping. They are getting married today, November 9th in a private ceremony. Lauryn, Ben, his brother/girlfriend, our friend Courtney and her boyfriend and both of their parents. They have been ENGAGED since AUGUST and she has kept it all a secret. She basically said she wanted to have a stress-free wedding and thought it would be funny to keep it a secret and just show up married. We all got "bridesmaids in spirit" gifts and there is going to be a big reception in January for the newly married couple. So, I just felt like sharing because this is the craziest thing that has happened to me in a long time. I can't wait to hear all the details when she & Ben get back or when Courtney gets back.
Anyway, all that to say CONGRATS TO LAURYN & BEN BELLAMY!!! We love you and are so excited for you guys. And don't think you got out of the bachelorette party and all the fun lingerie and other showers just because you are already married! Lots of people have to 'get' you back :-)
