A HUGE NEST OF HONEYBEES!!! They were swarming everywhere So don't come in our front door....They setup up camp in a bush right outside our front door!
News Update: the bees are gone. they were there for about 3 hours and then left. I have since learned (thanks James) that the bees will congregate like this while finding a new hive. The scouts are out searching, and until they find a suitable protected spot for their queen and colony, they will take to a tree or bush and pretty much just hang out. Glad to see 'em go.
Your neighbors are (were?) amazing. Bee-ware. :) When I was a little girl, my Grandad had hives in Cedar Key and every once in awhile they would swarm. Never at the front door of the house. You'll now have another story to remember of living in that neighborhood. I am glad you didn't get stung. Rosemary
